Bamba started his career with Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain at 11 after being spotted by club scours playing street football in Paris.
However, he initially turned the club down as his mother wanted him to become a doctor. He moved away from his family home to live at the club’s academy instead.
In July 2006, he signed a two-year contract for Scottish Premier League side Dunfermline Athletic.
Later, he chose to move to Hibernian and signed a three-year contract with the club. He made 80 appearances in all competitions and scored four times.
With Sol’s contract with Hibs expiring at the end of the 2010-11 season, the club agreed on a deal with club Leicester City for his transfer, which was confirmed on January 2, 2011.
