43 years old Startup leader Amjad was born in Jordan. He moved to New York City, United States, in 2011 and worked as a founding engineer at Codecademy.

During his time at Codecademy, the company raised $2.5 million in Series A funding in 2011 and $10 million in Series B funding in 2012.

Amjad left Codecademy in October 2013 and joined Facebook as a software engineer, where he received an annual pay cheque of about $189K.

In 2016, tech entrepreneur Masad started Replit as a small project with his co-founders.

The company’s initial valuation is not widely publicized, although investments were made with close investors. Replit raised $1.5 million in funding in 2018, led by Andreessen Horowitz.

In 2020, in a Series B round, the start-up received $20 million from a previous investor.

Replit raised the company’s valuation to $80 million in the 2021 Series C, thanks to an investment from Coatue Management.

Furthermore, in 2022, Replit achieved unicorn status with a valuation of $1.16 billion.

For his high school studies, Masad went to Mashrek International School.

After high school, Replit CEO worked as an IT specialist and then as a web developer at Arcadia Software Development in Amman, Jordan.

Before joining the university for higher education, Amjad worked as a web developer at Wiki Kiwis and as a front-end developer at Untitled Labs.
