BENT – Sacramento LGBTQ Film Festival

BENT Queer Youth Film Festival

Continuing its tradition of supporting local queer artists, the BENT Sacramento LGBTQ+ Film Festival is launching the BENT Queer Youth Film Festival which will highlight LGBTQ+ stories from youth filmmakers within Sacramento and the surrounding areas. The festival will take place virtually Saturday, April 10th, 2021 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, showing LGBTQ+ films by artists under 20 years of age.

Submissions are open now and are due March 19th, 2021 via Film Freeway. All films must be in English or subtitled in English, completed after 2019, between 2 and 10 minutes (including credits).

The BENT Queer Youth Film Festival highlights the importance of queer visibility in the media, through young filmmakers who both pave the way for the future of queer cinema and are near the age many discover their sexuality and/or gender. The event also connects youth within the Sacramento filmmaking community by fostering queer art and showcasing the work of LGBTQ+ folk and allies.
