After receiving no response at Karlan and Connie Denio’s Albuquerque home on Thanksgiving Day, relatives removed the door hinges to get inside.

Karlan Denio, 62, was found lying in bed, while officers reported that his wife, Connie, was discovered on the bedroom floor in a severely mutilated condition.
The neighbors said they would never have expected something like this to happen to the Denio couple.
Karlan Denio Diagnosed With Dementia Recalled Memories Of The Incident
As soon as the police saw the disturbing scene, they began to puke and instructed Karlan to remain in place while they obtained an arr*st warrant.
Karlan, who weighed only 90 pounds, was visibly frightened when the police confronted him about the incident.
During the investigation, the police discovered that although Karlan appeared to be okay, he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Then, Karlan was taken to the hospital to treat cuts on his arm and neck.
During his hospital stay, Karlan began to recall memories piece by piece.
He admitted that he had acted out of hatred and disrespect for Connie.
On December 14, 2022, he passed away amidst the hospital care service.
Detectives visited Karlan’s daughter, Lisa, to inquire about how she was coping with the loss of her parents.
Her response was surprising: she said she felt “blessed” and expressed more concern about the legal aspects of the case. Ultimately, the case was dismissed and closed.
Connie Denio Said Karlan Denio Wouldn’t Harm A Fly
The EWU Bodycam also released an interview with Tami, Karlan Denio’s sister, who revealed that this wasn’t the first time the police were involved.
She mentioned that Karlan had previously been found pounding on his chest so hard that he had to be rushed to a nearby clinic.

In another incident, he had disappeared in his car for seven hours.
So, Karlan Denio’s photo was widely circulated on social media to locate him in 2012.
Moreover, a few weeks before the incident, Connie confided in Tami that he would wake up anxious and attempt to harm himself.
When the sister asked if Karlan would also harm Connie, Connie assured her that he wouldn’t even hurt a fly.
