Two cousins, Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook-Morrissey, were abducted during a bike ride in Evansdale in Black Hawk County in 2012.

Although the incident is already eleven years old, it’s still drawing people’s attention. July 13, 2012, was a black day for Elizabeth and Morrissey’s family.

Lyric Cook-Morrissey Was A Student At Kingsley Elementary School

According to online reports, Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins were related by blood through their mothers, who were sisters.

The cousins used to spend a lot of time together at family events. Reportedly, Lyric was often cared for by her grandmother and aunts.

Being close in age, the cousins even shared many interests and enjoyed hanging out during family gatherings.

Furthermore, the cousins’ names came into the media prominence after they were reported missing on July 13, 2012, to the Evansdale Police Department in Evansdale, Iowa.

The families of both kids were scared as they failed to return. Later, the police only find their bikes on the trail of Meyers Lake.

They also discovered Elizabeth’s purse with her phone in it. Five months after their disappearances, the deceased bodies of the girls were found in a remote wildlife area in Bremer County.

Callie Was Just 4 Years Old When She Lost Her Sister, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Collins was born to her parents, Drew and Heather Collins, on July 31, 2003, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

However, she was not her parent’s only child; she grew up with her two sisters, Amber and Callie, and a brother named Kelly.

Elizabeth had a good bond with all three of her siblings. It has been said that she was the boss around them.

So, in a 2022 interview, her mother, Heather, said,

It’s still devastating every day not to have her.”

Police even had multiple suspects in connection to the murder of cousins, but until now, the assassin has not been identified.

So, the families of both Elizabeth and Lyric hope to get justice.
