Andra Day said that she didn’t personally talk to Ammons while preparing for her role, but Daniels did.
She acknowledged that Latoya Ammons genuinely experienced these events.
The actress longed to honor Ammons’ life without retraumatizing her. She aimed to be sensitive, considering that they were telling the story of a living person.
Latoya Ammons Was Surprised By The Viral Widespread “Ammons Haunting Case”
Ammons’ older son and daughter were sent to St. Joseph’s Carmelite Home in East Chicago, while her youngest son went to Christian Haven in Wheatfield for a psychiatric evaluation.

She said they had already endured so much and were fighting hard together, so it was especially tough when they were split up.
In November 2012, Ammons was reunited with her children after the Department of Child Services filed a request to end their wardship in January 2013.
The report stated that the family continued to attend church regularly but was no longer focusing solely on religion to address the children’s behavior issues.
At the same time, Ammons shared that although she anticipated some reaction from her hometown, she was surprised by how widely the story had spread.
