Then, he started his term in 2019 and ended it in 2022. He ran for re-election in the Democratic primary on June 14, 2022, but did not win.
His campaign was stormed controversial because of stories written by the Review-Journal, particularly by independent journalist Jeff German.

Even Mary Ann “Mae” Ismael testified that Robert Telles was a “great” provider during their 14 years of marriage.
She talked about their “blended” family, which included her son, his daughter, and their daughter.
At the same time, Telles’ wife, Mary, works as a senior consultant at Talent Function, which is part of Cielo Company.
He also owns five rental properties and a Las Vegas home valued at nearly $600,000.
Moreover, the Review-Journal found that on December 30, 2019, Telles bought five properties in Hot Springs, Arkansas, for $332,000.
These homes, between 984 and 1,904 square feet, are now worth at least $389,000. He also took out a $286,000 mortgage to buy them.
As of 2024, The Telles family has an estimated net worth of around $ 7 million.
