Nick Swardson is the youngest of three siblings and grew up with Rachel and John in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area.
He began acting and performing improv comedy at age 16 but struggled with alcohol and substance abuse and enrolled in a rehab program while still in St. Paul Central High School.
